Most domestic tree work in north-east Hampshire falls between £250 and £2,400. A small garden tree is typically £250 to £450 to remove, a medium tree £450 to £1,100, and a mature oak or beech over a building £1,100 to £2,400 or more. Access and what sits underneath the tree move the price more than the height of it does.

Tree removal
Sectional dismantling over buildings costs more than straight felling. Access is the other big variable.

How much does it cost to remove a tree in the UK?
Most domestic tree removals in Hampshire fall between £450 and £2,400 depending on size, access and what is underneath. A small garden tree is typically £250 to £450, a mature oak or beech over a house £2,400 or more. Every reputable firm will quote free on site, so get three.
Why do tree surgery quotes vary so much?
Usually because they are not quoting the same job. One may include stump grinding and waste removal while another leaves the cordwood stacked. One may have allowed for a road closure. Ask for the quote itemised and the differences become obvious.
Is it cheaper to remove a tree in winter?
No, generally the opposite. Winter is peak season for tree work because the trees are dormant and the storms are in. Late spring and summer are quieter, so a non-urgent job booked then can be better value.

Should I always take the cheapest quote?
Check that the cheap one carries public liability insurance, holds NPTC certification and is quoting to BS3998. Uninsured tree work in a garden with a house next to it is a false economy, and if something goes wrong your own insurer will ask.
